Ladies and Gentlemen ,

Eastside, in partnership with PrimeTimers, is hosting roundtables in October for leaders in the Third Sector. The roundtables will be an opportunity for open peer-to-peer discussion and debate and to understand and share best practice, all with the aim of greater long-term sustainability and growth for Third Sector organisations in light of the current environment. The sessions will be facilitated by experts from the field and guest speakers will provide participants invaluable insights into the topics.

Wednesday, 5th October 2010, 1:45 to 4:45pm -Value through Social Procurement for Local Authorities (BOOK NOW)

Facilitated by Matt Knopp, Director at Eastside, and with expert input from guest speakers, the event will explore issues around:

  • What are Social Enterprises and what role can they play in delivering services to Local Authorities?
  • Social Enterprises as tools to deliver sustainable, measurable social impact.
  • How to engage Social Enterprises within broader Council policies?
  • Social Enterprises and procurement.

The guest speaker at this event is James Jennings, expert DWP Consultant and will be facilitated by Richard Litchfield, Eastside's Managing Director.

 The session will cover:

  • Current situation and challenges.
  • How to effectively tender for public sector contracting opportunities?
  • The 3rd sector and its role within public sector contracting.
  • Any other issues raised by delegates.

Thursday, 7th October 2010, 9:30am to 12:30pm - Third Sector Mergers and Collaborations: doing business together in the new environment (BOOK NOW)

With his experience having set up a model organisation for delivering large public sector contracts by creating consortia, Richard Litchfield, the founder of 3SC, sheds light on how TSOs may benefit from mergers, joint ventures and consortia formation.The guest speaker for this event is Craig Dearden-Phillips, one of UK's foremost speakers on the future of the social sector.

The session will seek to provide expert insight on:

  • Drivers of, and obstacles to various forms of strategic partnerships
  • The potential of partnerships to deliver success
  • Merger process and support
  • Any other issues raised by delegates
